Moral Stories: Once upon a time, there was a man who was very helpful, kindhearted, and generous. He was a man who will help someone without asking anything to pay him back. He will help someone because he wants to and he loves to. One day while walking into a dusty road, this man saw a purse, so he picked it up and noticed that the purse was empty. Suddenly a woman with a policeman shows up and gets him arrested. The woman kept on asking where did he hide her money but the man replied, “It was empty when I found it, Mam.” The woman yelled at him, “Please give it back, It’s for my son’s school fees.” The man noticed that the woman really felt sad, so he handed all his money. He could say that the woman was a single mother. The man said, “Take these, sorry for the inconvenience.” The woman left and policeman held he man for further questioning. The woman was very happy but when she counted her money later on, it was doubled, she was shocked. One day while woman was going to pay her son’...

Why we hear humming sound when standing below high tension power line?

Transformers are a different story, but with just high-voltage (generally > 350kV ) wires the standard explanation is corona discharge. In the air occasionally some gas molecules will become ionized. This means that the molecule gains or loses and electron. This can happen through chemical reactions, but it's generally more likely that UV light knock an electron off. An electrical field doesn't really affect uncharged molecules, but it does affect ions. The positively charged ions are relatively heavy, so move slowly, but the free electrons are very light so they get pushed away very quickly. These fast moving electrons bump other molecules and can knock more electrons free. In addition to moving ions, this can cause a slight glow (when an electron recombines with a positive ion), and heats the air which causes noise. A negatively charged wire will attract positively charged ions, are push away the free electrons (or any negative charged ions), while a positively charged wir...

What is Pixel?

Image
The pixel (a word invented from "picture element") is the basic unit of programmable color on a computer display or in a computer image. Think of it as a logical - rather than a physical - unit. The physical size of a pixel depends on how you've set the resolution for the display screen. If you've set the display to its maximum resolution, the physical size of a pixel will equal the physical size of the dot pitch (let's just call it the dot size) of the display. If, however, you've set the resolution to something less than the maximum resolution, a pixel will be larger than the physical size of the screen's dot (that is, a pixel will use more than one dot). The specific color that a pixel describes is some blend of three components of the color spectrum - RGB. Up to three bytes of data are allocated for specifying a pixel's color, one byte for each major color component. A true color or 24-bit color system uses all three bytes. However, many color disp...

What does going public mean?

Image
Going public refers to a private company's initial public offering (IPO), thus becoming a publicly traded and owned entity. Businesses usually go public to raise capital in hopes of expanding; venture capitalists may use IPOs as an exit strategy - that is, a way of getting out of their investment in a company. The IPO process begins with contacting an investment bank and making certain decisions, such as the number and price of the shares that will be issued. Investment banks take on the task of underwriting, or becoming owners of the shares and assuming legal responsibility for them. The goal of the underwriter is to sell the shares to the public for more than what was paid to the original owners of the company. Deals between investment banks and issuing companies can be valued at hundreds of millions of dollars, some even hitting $1 billion.

Why Do Medical Researchers Use Mice?

Image
Medical researchers rely on mice and rats for several reasons: - Convenience : rodents are small, easily maintained, and easy to adapt to new environment. They also reproduce quickly with short lifespan (two to three years), so several generations of mice can be observed in a relatively short period of time. - Economical: Mice and Rats are relatively inexpensive and can be bought in large quantities. - Genetically Identical: Most of the mice and rats used in medical trials are inbred so that, they are almost identical genetically. This helps make the results of medical trials more uniform. - Similarity to Human: Many symptoms of human conditions can be replicated in mice and rats.
